Keywords are very important but people do not bother with them much. You should because these words are used by search engines to find your paper: so, this is how other researchers will find and cite your work. Some general rules here. Use specific keywords that tie to your paper. Do not be too general: We edit a lot of geography papers where colleagues use keywords like ‘Earth’, ‘soil’, ‘sky’ – these are a waste of time.
